Happy ##th Birthday to Jake's favorite guy - DADDY! We celebrated a bit on the eve of his birthday as school work will once again interefere with our summer! Jake carried a small cake through the grocery store and was so proud to bring it up to the cash register. By the time we got it home, the icing was either missing or smashed into the container...but....Jake was happy! He was also very happy to eat the cake, but mostly just ate the frosting. When we were walking through the store a woman pointed to the upside down container in Jake's hands and said "um, thats going to fall out". I shrugged my shoulders and said "he's happy". Mother of the Year. (Hey lady - if you are reading this - there was tape holding the container together ;) ) and next time.. MYOB!
I asked Jake how old Daddy was going to be on his birthday and he responded "2". So we took the number 2 candle we used for Jake's birthday cake and used it for Daddy's! It was cute and Jake even helped blow out the candle!
This morning we made cinnamon rolls for Daddy and of course, Jake ate only the icing off of 3 of them. He was so happy to give Daddy his birthday present too. It is amazing how much he understands now and how interactive he can be. Sometimes, a bit too much. :)
While Alex's birthday falls on a work/school day we will celebrate next month in LG..along with mommy's, auntie's, mia's and then our anniversary too! There is NO shortage of birthdays over the next few weeks!!
Pics to follow... ;)

Saying...
Here are a few things lately that have Jake making us laugh..
One night he was wearing a new Batman PJ set. I said "Hey Daddy, look it's BATMAN!" Jake's response: "NO Mommy, It's JAKE!"
When I put cream on his bottom he tells me he has a "Rash Diaper".
He can recite lines (mostly random words) to Barney shows and sings the "I love you" song in full effect, hugs/kisses and all.
Our friend Dana came to visit last week.. when we went into the other room he said to me "Dana hit me!". Dana is a grown up who LOVES Jake..and would never hurt him. It's hard not to laugh at things like this.
"Daddy's name Alex" "Mommy's name Ferry"
Jake what would you like for breakfast? "I-Cream"
I need to start writing these little sayings down.. he cracks us up!

TWO much going on!

Summer has gotten the best of us..instead of being inside and blogging, we are outside playing in the pool, cutting down the jungle in our yard, eating popsicles on the deck or under a tree, or running around at the local watering hole, aka the Spray Park.
What have we missed? Jake's second birthday party was full of fun..family, friends, a blow up pool and lots of presents! We had a great day at Mimi and Grampy's house surrounded by many family and friends. We can't thank Mimi and Grampy enough for hosting! They went above and beyond to host a wonderful day honoring Jake and Grampy.
Vacation! We went on our very first family vacation (well, vaca with just the three of us) and had a bast! We headed to our favorite spot in Maine, Wells/Ogunquit for the 4th of July weekend and loved every minute of it. Jake loved swimming at the hotel's pool, running Wells beach with Magaly and friends, and eating ice cream at Rose Cove. It was great for Alex and I to get back, as the Ogunquit area has been a favorite of our since we lived there back in 2000. It was great to see the family I once nannied for, and how much they have grown!
Since returning from out trip, the heat has been ON! Thankfully, Jake got a new hair cut just before summer really HIT..the shorter cut suits him well in this sticky weather.
I wish I had photos to share..but I have misplaced my camera at the moment! Along with my ATM card....just kidding mom!
Stay cool freinds!
Ok..so here are pics from my phone..
